Be vessels of hounour unto God – Women advised

-

The General Overseer of the Jesus is the Light Evangelistic Ministry (JELEM), has urged women in the country to explore their God given talents to the glory of God.

Apostle Richard Kwame Owusu said women have many qualities which when well exploited could help with the development of society and also help fulfill the true purpose of God for man on earth.

“Satan was never jealous of Adam, he only became jealous of man after the creation of Eve and this signifies that women have so much to offer man which would certainly not please the devil so women have to be very careful while exhibiting their potentials…,” he said.

The man of God offered this exhortation at the inauguration of the women ministry of the Kasoa Toll Booth branch of the church.

The inauguration marked the end of a one week programme themed ‘a virtuous woman’.

Renowned marriage counsellor, Opanin Kwadwo Kyere who was the Guest Speaker for the programme took the women through various counselling sections on how to become a true virtuous woman for their husbands, the church and society at large.

He further demanded of them to set their bodies apart as vessels of honour unto God. Adultery and fornication, he encouraged, should be a sin which ought not to be part of the life a Christian who has consecrated him or herself for God.

The Women’s Ministry, the marriage counselor urged further should be used to teach and shape the women of the church which sole aim is to prepare people for the kingdom of God.

Inaugurating the Women’s Ministry, Apostle Kwame Owusu urged the leadership to eschew all forms of arrogance and instead consider themselves as persons who are there to serve and lead but not to become Lords who would be served by their fellow women.

“If you know you can’t accept harsh criticisms or not ready to tolerate all forms of provoking thoughts, comments and actions, then you have to know that you are certainly not ready to lead…but once you accept the mantle of leadership, then you have to humbly serve…,” he encouraged the women.

Apostle Owusu also encouraged them to work hard for the success of the ministry as their success would inspire the other four branches of the church to also form a ministry for the women in the churches.

The leadership of the Ministry include: Mrs Benedicta Turkson, President; Mrs Beatrice Bempah Sackey, Vice President; Mrs Beatrice Martin, Treasurer; Mrs Yvonne Hayford, Secretary; and Mrs Lewiza Boadu, Vice Secretary.
