Verbal diarrhea which took us to opposition still lingers on – Kofi Adams

-

National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has bemoaned the continuous attacks on the party’s executives and former President John Mahama following the party’s defeat in the 2016 general elections.

According to Kofi Adams, those aggrieved party members who have launched the vitriolic attacks on them are still engaging in the “verbal diarrhea which took us to opposition”.

His comment comes after some party members and former national executives blamed the campaign team for their defeat.

Former National Chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei and former National Organizer, Yaw Boateng claim NDC’s shambolic performance in the constituency in 2016 was to be blamed on the arrogance of the party executives.

They also said the Campaign team left them out of all activities in the electioneering campaign – a situation they blamed for the defeat.

But Kofi Adams on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday expressed shock at the comment of the former party leaders.

He was convinced the two [Kwabena Adjei, Boateng Gyan] might be suffering from some kind of amnesia since they were directive involved in the campaign activities.

“Dr. Kwabena Adjei as a former chairman automatically became a member of the Council of Elders and Yaw Gyan was part of the Vice President’s campaign team so I believe they might have forgotten” he stated.

Mr. Adams who was the Campaign Coordinator of the NDC’s 2016 campaign could not fathom why such leaders have chosen to vent their spleen in the media instead of Professor Kwesi Botchwey-led committee.

He also described as false claims that he squandered money meant for the campaign because he did not handle directly monies for the campaign.

Kofi Adams explained that, monies were given to the Regional Chairmen to distribute to the constituencies so “I don’t see why you will be looking for somebody at the top to blame”.
