The Dean of Accounting and Finance at the University of Professional Studies, Professor Isaac Boadi, has criticized the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) for failing to address key issues despite repeated strike actions.
According to Professor Boadi, UTAG is yet to find effective solutions to problems affecting its members’ welfare.
His comments come in the wake of UTAG’s suspension of a strike action which was initially launched to protest the environmental destruction caused by illegal mining, locally known as ‘galamsey.’
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Prof. Boadi, disclosed that some UTAG members have sought to disassociate themselves from the association, citing dissatisfaction with its approach.
“There are significant welfare issues within the group. Some members feel there is no benefit in being part of UTAG, as all they hear about is the group going on strike without any proper solutions,” he said.
