Some constituency executives in the Upper Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region have endorsed Mr. Evans Sre-Onyame, an educationist and HR practitioner, as their candidate for the District Chief Executive (DCE) position.
The constituency executives cited the district’s lagging development and the need for a charismatic leader who can effectively utilize available resources to drive growth.
They highlighted Sre-Onyame’s commitment to the party, especially during difficult times when some members defected to the NPP, resulting in the loss of the parliamentary seat in 2016.
As Youth Organizer, Sre-Onyame single-handedly funded youth activities to rejuvenate the party’s base, contributing significantly to the NDC’s victory in the 2020 elections.
James Djornorbua, the constituency organizer, emphasized that Sre-Onyame’s loyalty to the party is unquestionable, noting that he has supported the party both logistically and financially.
Madam Comfort Darley Huago, the constituency women’s organizer, expressed confidence in Sre-Onyame’s leadership abilities, describing him as a unifier who can bring all factions together for the common goal of community development.
Samuel Agyekum, the constituency youth organizer, praised Sre-Onyame’s mentorship, education, and understanding of the district’s dynamics. He further stated that Sre-Onyame’s peace-loving nature makes him a suitable candidate.
Sre-Onyame, who holds an MPhil in Educational Administration and Management from the University of Education, Winneba, and a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Psychology from the University of Ghana, has also worked as a teacher and education officer in the district.
