Upper Denkyira West DCE pledges market upgrades

The newly confirmed District Chief Executive (DCE) for Upper Denkyira West, Isaac Nsiah, has pledged to upgrade market facilities in the district capital, Diaso, with a focus on improving sanitation, accessibility, safety, and fairness in stall allocation.

Speaking during a tour of the Diaso market on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 — just his second day in office — Mr. Nsiah acknowledged challenges such as flooding, poor security, and limited access within the market.

He assured traders that these issues would be addressed as part of efforts to raise the overall standard of the facility.

In an interview with Adom News, the DCE emphasized his intention to collaborate with market leaders and stakeholders to tackle these concerns, adding that a clean and secure trading environment is essential for economic growth and community well-being.

He also gave assurances that the ongoing market stalls project would be completed and allocated in a transparent and non-partisan manner.

“No one will be sidelined based on political affiliation. Every interested trader will have a fair opportunity to acquire a stall when the project is commissioned,” he said.

Traders welcomed the DCE’s visit and expressed hope that his promises would bring long-term improvements to their working conditions.
