The headmaster of Krachi Senior High School (SHS), in the Oti Region, Smith Kofi Kpebu, has made a passionate appeal to the Ministry of Education to upgrade the institution to Category A or B status.
According to him, upgrading the school to grade A or B would not only enhance its reputation but also provide better resources and facilities for students and staff.
Mr. Kpebu mentioned that, many schools in the region have already been upgraded to Category A or B status, and it is crucial for Krachi SHS to be on the same level to compete effectively.
The headmaster made the appeal in during the school’s 50th anniversary celebration, reflecting on its rich history and contributions to the education sector.
He emphasized that Krachi SHS has consistently demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to nurturing well-rounded students.
Mr. highlighted the school’s impressive track record in national examinations and its role in producing leaders who have gone on to make significant contributions to society
In addition to the appeal for an upgrade, the headmaster also mentioned the need for increased support from the government in terms of infrastructure and dormitory to meet the growing demand of the school population.
He called on alumni and community members to rally behind the school, emphasizing that collective efforts are essential for achieving these goals.
Speaking in an interview with Adom News, Brigadier General Albert Dawohosu an alumni of Krachi SHS, also voiced their support for the headmaster’s appealed.
He shared their experience and the impact the school have on their lives, urging students to take advantage of the current and thrive in academic excellence.
The old students expressed their commitment to supporting the school through mentorship and programs and fundraising initiatives to help solve of the challenges facing the school.
Emphasizing the importance of giving back, the Municipal Education Director for Krachi West, Irene Jacqilinda Attabra highlighted how alumni contributions can enhance educational resources and opportunities for future generations.
She noted that by fostering a strong community and support, Krachi SHS can thrive and maintain its legacy of excellence in education.
