Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, believes that the club’s upcoming Ghana Premier League fixtures will be crucial in determining their title aspirations.
Narteh made this statement after guiding Kotoko to a 2-0 victory over lower-tier side Accelere8z FC in the Round of 32 of the FA Cup on Sunday.
Currently sitting in 6th place with 28 points from 16 matches, Kotoko will face Vision FC and Karela United in their upcoming Matchday 17 and 18 fixtures.
Reflecting on the FA Cup win, Narteh Ogum emphasized the importance of securing all six points in the next two games to climb to the top of the table.
“It should be a turning point for us in terms of our ambition to compete for the trophy. It should be a turning point for us. We are playing two games at home,” he said.
“We should make the very best out of this opportunity. Try and play well in terms of performance, try and make sure that the chances we create, we convert them. It’s all about the three points.
“When we get the three points, these vital six points, I’m sure when we get them, it will inspire us a lot in terms of our approach at training and our approach in subsequent games so it’s a good opportunity and we need to grab it,” he added.
