Obogu Presbyterian Church in the Asante Akyem South District of the Ashanti Region has fallen victim to vandalism by unidentified individuals.
The intruders broke through the church’s glass windows and targeted its musical and sound equipment, leaving other items untouched.
Among the damaged items were bass drums, a piano, a sound system, a keyboard, and microphones, with some equipment showing visible puncture marks.
Interestingly, items like the TV set and other non-sound-related possessions remained intact.
The motive for the act remains unclear but speculations are that the act is a protest against noise pollution.
The church leadership has appealed for calm while urging anyone with information to assist in identifying the perpetrators.
