The Police in Sunyani has arrested an unemployed young man, Samuel Antwi Boasiako, a resident of Baakoniaba, a suburb of Sunyani, for robbing and inflicting severe cutlass wounds on a young woman in the community.
The suspect stole the phones, cash and other personal belongings of the victim, Ms. Patricia Awoyaa before attacking her with the machete in her room.
The victim, who is in a very critical condition is on admission at the Sunyani Regional Hospital responding to treatment, Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer told the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday, in Sunyani.

He said on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at about 0410 hours, Godwin Zuugmaah, a brother of the victim reported to the Sunyani Municipal Police station that the suspect had inflicted cutlass wounds on victim’s body and fled with the items.
Chief inspector Oppong said some neighbours heard the cry of the victim for assistance and rushed to the scene only to find her lying in a pool of blood.
He said the victim mentioned Boasisko’s as her assailant. The Police then proceeded to the suspect’s house and arrested him.

Chief Inspector Oppong said the Police upon a search of suspect’s room retrieved the machete with blood stains on it and the mobile phones.
The suspect would be put before Court on a charge of robbery and causing harm.
