The University of Ghana chapter of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UG-UTAG) has voted in support of Organised Labour’s intended strike action on October 10.
In an overwhelming endorsement, 355 members (80.14%) voted in favour of the strike, while 88 members (19.86%) opposed it, out of a total of 443 votes cast.
This comes in the wake of UG-UTAG President, Professor Ransford Gyampo’s criticism of the government’s perceived failure to deal with the menace despite the devastation.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo at a meeting with Organised Labour leaders on October 3 pleaded for more time to address the issue.
