UG Medical Centre takes COVID-19 health service to another level

The University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) has taken COVID-19 related health service provision to another level with the introduction of a new care coordination service – COVID connect.

In collaboration with PharmAccess foundation, COVID connect will offer individuals a range of services including care management and monitoring.

Residents in the Greater Accra region can access it through the Luscii application available on Playstore and app store and then input symptoms which would be assessed by a dedicated team at the UGMC.

With the facility being a designated hospital for COVID-19, health workers are able to provide adequate care for patients.

Chief Executive Officer of UGMC, Dr Darious Osei, at a ceremony to launch the service said it was a game changer in the battle against the pandemic which is sweeping across nations the world over.

Country Director for PharmAccess Foundation, Dr Maxwell Antwi said the app and service will in the coming weeks be available to individuals outside the Greater Accra region.
