Astute football scout and Coach, Ebenezer Sefa has questioned the performance of the National under 20 team (Black Satellites) following their 2-0 defeat against Senegal in the ongoing Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Niger.
Speaking to Asempa FM, the coach emphasized that, the performance of the team is a reflection of the preparation they had prior to the tournament and that, if care is not taken, they will not go pass through the group stage.
“The team was in camp without any leader, nobody cared about them so who was to supervise and direct their path? We were not ready. Even when the team was traveling to Togo for the WAFU Zone B u20 Championship, because of fuel they left Prampram very late.” He stated.
“The importance we attached to the U20 team was minimal. If this is how we will be going, then I will not be surprised to see the team in Ghana.”
Ghana is in group B and will be playing their last group game against Mali on Saturday but Sefa believes it will be a hard nut to crack because the Malians are now doing something unique with their junior teams.
“We have a game against Mali on Saturday; when it comes to transition, the Malians are very good; look at what their U17 team did to us so it tells you how the transition works in Mali.” He added.
Ghana defeated Burkina Faso in their opening game and now lies second in the group with three points out of the two games played so far.
