U-20 WAFU B Championship: Black Satellites will be ready for tourney – Desmond Ofei

-

Black Satellites coach Desmond Ofei has expressed confidence that his team will be prepared for the upcoming 2024 WAFU B U-20 Championship.

Ghana finds itself in Group A, where they will face Benin, Niger, and Togo in the tournament, which also serves as the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Although Ofei admitted that preparations are not yet at their peak ahead of the tournament, scheduled for next month in Togo, he remains optimistic about the team’s progress.

The Black Satellites have been in camp for several weeks, focusing on building on their success from the 2023 African Games in March.

“So preparation has been going on,” Ofei told Joy Sports.

“We’re not the best out there that we wanted, but we are growing. The team is growing gradually and I’m sure prior to the tournament it will get better,” he added.

The WAFU B U-20 Championship qualifiers will run from October 17 to 31, 2024.
