U-20 AFCON: Ghana housed in Group A with Ivory Coast and others

-

Ghana’s U-20 team, the Black Satellites, have discovered their group for the upcoming U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place in April this year in Ivory Coast.

The Black Satellites have been placed in Group A alongside tournament hosts Ivory Coast, Tanzania, and DR Congo. They will be joined by an additional team from UNIFFAC 2.

This marks Ghana’s return to the competition for the first time since 2021, when they last participated and emerged as champions.

In Group B, West African giants Nigeria will battle against North African heavyweights Morocco and Egypt, as well as South Africa.

Defending champions Senegal have been drawn in Group C, where they will compete against Zambia, Kenya, and Sierra Leone.

The tournament will kick off on April 26 and conclude on May 16, 2025, with the top two teams securing qualification for the U-20 FIFA World Cup.
