Two rooms reduced to ashes as fire guts Buipewura’s Palace

A fire outbreak has ravaged parts of the Buipewura’s Palace in the Savannah Region, destroying two rooms completely.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, saw personnel from the Buipe Fire Station respond swiftly to contain the blaze.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the fire engulfed a section of the palace consisting of six single-bedroom apartments. However, thanks to the timely intervention of firefighters, four rooms were saved, preventing further destruction.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but investigations are underway.

While some personal belongings were lost in the affected rooms, no casualties were reported.

The GNFS commended the duty officer and his team for their swift response, which helped minimize the damage to the palace.
