Two police officers, Corporal Samuel Boamah and Lance Corporal Isifu Tahiru at the Kasoa Division, have been arrested and detained for allegedly shooting a civilian to death.

The unfortunate incident is reported to have occurred yesterday around 12:30pm at the JVC drinking spot located at Kasoa High Tension, in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central region.

In an interview with Adom News, Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Oppong, said the shooting was as a result of a confrontation between the two police officers and the deceased civilian.

“While drinking, a confrontation broke out between the officers and some of the customers, Lance Corporal Isifu Tahiru, who had his gun with him pulled it out to frighten the crowd. But Corporal Boamah snatched the gun and shot at the deceased,” she said.
The deceased civilian has been identified as Musah Mohammed.
