The Awutu Bereku District Court, presided over by Her Ladyship Naomi Kunto, has sentenced two brothers to four years in prison, two years each.

They were jailed for recruiting land guards and locking the Gomoa Akotsi Chief’s Palace in an attack.

The prosecutor stated that the suspects, Kwabena Annan, 35 years old, and Kwabena Anum, 31-years-old, hired a group of land guards and locked the chief’s palace two years ago.

After their arrest, the suspects were sent to Kasoa Circuit Court, where they pleaded guilty and signed a bond of good behavior, pledging not to lock the palace again.

However, the prosecutor said that in May of this year, the same group of people attacked the caretaker of the palace and locked the palace again while the Chief of Gomoa Akotsi, Nana Safo Ninson and his elders were going to perform annual rituals at the palace.

The suspects have been sentenced to four years of imprisonment, two years each, with hard labour.

They are going to serve their jail term at Ankaful Prison.
