Tupac’s family eyes legal action against Diddy over claim he ordered $1M hit on the rapper

-

The family of Tupac Shakur might be considering the possibility of filing a suit against Sean “Diddy” Combs following resurfaced claims that he had a hand in the murder of the late rapper.

According to reports, they have retained the services of lawyers and investigators to confirm the validity of the claims.

In the meantime, Diddy is yet to be considered as a suspect in the murder, despite the resurfaced claims.

In September last year, Keefe D, the last surviving suspect in the murder of Tupac, was arrested and charged.

A recent attempt by him to post bail was unsuccessful but led to the resurfacing of previous claims that embattled music mogul Diddy might have been involved in the murder of Tupac.

Apparently, these claims have not gone unnoticed by Tupac’s family, who have reportedly hired lawyers and investigators to get to the bottom of the allegations.

TMZ reports that they hope to “dig up any potential evidence that exists to corroborate it” in the process and may consider filing a lawsuit if any evidence supporting the claims is found.

According to the outlet, the hired team is “confident they will surface potential evidence, including more legal docs.”

If this happens, they intend to give this information to the authorities to press possible criminal charges.

During a 2009 interview with the police, Keefe D claimed that Diddy paid a high-level drug dealer, Eric Von Martin, one million dollars to assassinate Shakur. These comments were referenced in a filing to deny him bail, in which Diddy’s name appeared 77 times.

One of the citations revealed that Diddy allegedly offered to pay for the assassination to retaliate against Marion “Suge” Knight, a then-record executive turned convict.

Knight was the co-founder and CEO of Death Row Records, the label to which Shakur was signed during the latter part of his career. He was also in the car with Shakur when the drive-by shooting occurred.

“Puffy Combs….Does he play a role in this thing?…” the police had asked Keefe D during his 2009 interview, per the News Chronicle. At the time, Davis had replied, “Yeah, I think he did.”

Despite the resurfaced claims, Diddy is still not considered a suspect, and it is unclear if that status quo will change.

Besides Diddy’s alleged connection to Tupac’s death, the music mogul is embroiled in other legal troubles.

In recent months, over half a dozen women have filed sexual assault lawsuits against the record label executive.

These suits appear to have been spurred by a similar lawsuit filed by Diddy’s ex, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, last year, which they settled within hours.

According to TMZ, Former model Crystal McKinney, who is one of the women suing Diddy, claimed she once met up with him at his New York recording studio.

There, the rapper allegedly offered her laced marijuana, kissed her without her consent, and forced her to perform oral sex on him.

Another woman, April Lampros, alleged in her lawsuit that she had over four terrifying sexual encounters with Diddy between 1995 and 2001.

She also claimed that she was raped in at least three of these incidents and that in one encounter, Combs forced her to ingest ecstasy.

In response to the recent sexual assault claims and potential future allegations, Jonathan Davis, a lawyer for Combs, has asserted his client’s innocence.

“No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted or sex trafficked anyone,” he said per People magazine.

“We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason and without any proof,” Davis added. “Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to find the truth, and Mr. Combs is confident he will prevail against these and other baseless claims in court.”

According to the Daily Mail, the Department of Justice is preparing to launch a criminal indictment against Diddy following the barrage of accusers that have recently surfaced.

A grand jury has reportedly been selected to hear out evidence against him as his accusers have been notified that they could be brought in to testify against him.

Homeland Security investigators are still gathering evidence as they reportedly want their case against him to be “bulletproof” weeks after they raided his Miami and L.A. homes.

A lawyer for Diddy shared that he refused to comment on the allegations and litigations against him, adding that they are “aware that the proper authorities are conducting a thorough investigation and therefore have confidence any important issues will be addressed in the proper forum, where the rules distinguish facts from fiction.”
