The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture has announced the postponement of the National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFAC) 2024, originally scheduled to take place in Techiman, Bono East Region, on Friday, November 29, 2024.
In a communiqué issued on November 28, 2024, the Ministry expressed regret over the last-minute decision, attributing it to unanticipated developments beyond their control.
The statement emphasized that the decision was made in consultation with key stakeholders and assured the public that a new date for the festival would be communicated in due course.
“The Ministry sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this development,” the communiqué added, extending its apologies to the Chiefs and people of Techiman, as well as the general public who had prepared to participate in the event.
NAFAC, a flagship event celebrating Ghana’s cultural heritage, attracts attendees from across the country and beyond.
This postponement is expected to affect various stakeholders, including cultural performers, artisans, and local businesses in Techiman.
The Ministry has urged all interested parties to stay updated via their official communication channels, promising to provide details of the rescheduled event as soon as possible.
