Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the record signing of hotshot striker Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth in a deal worth up to £65 million.

The 26-year-old joins the club on a contract until 2030, becoming Spurs’ most expensive signing of all time, above the capture of Tanguy Ndombele for £63m from Lyon.

Solanke’s move also makes it a record sale for The Cherries, who parted with Nathan Ake for £40m in the summer of 2020.

The English forward will join Spurs for initial £55m with £10m in add-ons, according to reports.

The former Liverpool forward enjoyed a historic campaign for Bournemouth in 2023/24, netting 19 times in the Premier League – the most top-flight goals in a single season by any player in the club’s history.

Spurs announced the deal with an anime-insipired video, following Solanke’s penchant for goal celebrations based on anime last season – such as wearing a mask from the show Naruto.

Ange Postecoglou will hope Solanke can transfer his sparkling form from the south coast to north London, having scored 58 goals across all competitions over the last three seasons.

The Englishman becomes Spurs’ third summer signing after the purchases of midfielder Archie Gray from Leeds United and Lucas Bergvall from Swedish side Djurgarden.

Spurs have also agreed a deal for teenage winger Min-hyeok Yang, who will leave South Korea’s Gangwon FC in January.

Tottenham now have three main options at centre-forward, with loanee Timo Werner and Brazilian Richarlison competing with Solanke for a starting berth.
