Torch Bearers for the Vulnerable and Needy, a not-for-profit organization, has donated items worth hundreds of cedis to the Mampong Babies’ Home in the Ashanti Region.
The items included bags of rice, assorted drinks, cooking oil, canned fish, toiletries, educational materials, and cash.
The group also donated two wheelchairs to the Association of Persons with Disabilities, which were received by Apostle Elijah Tetteh.
According to the founder of the group, Beatrice Owarewa Siaw, the donation was aimed at supporting and encouraging the children to aspire for greatness.
She stated that the group’s mission is to give back to society and celebrate with the less privileged while putting smiles on their faces.
Ms. Siaw used the opportunity to call for more support for orphanages, emphasizing the vital role these institutions play in providing refuge for children without parental care.
She also commended the management and caregivers at the Mampong Babies’ Home for their dedication to rescuing and nurturing children in difficult circumstances.
A supervisor at the facility, Paulina Serwaa, who received the items on behalf of the home, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the founder and members of the group.
She stated that the generous gesture would make a real difference in the lives of the children and appealed to other philanthropic individuals and organizations to support the orphanage.
