Ghanaian journalist gives 6-point response to Amanpour's non-factual defence of Moesha

-

Multimedia journalist and editor of Adom FM, Samuel Nii Narku Dowuona, has, in a six-point write-up, responded to claims made by Cable News Network (CNN) journalist, Christiana Amanpour’s defense of Moesha Budoung.
Amanpour, in an attempt to defend her interviewee, made a number of claims considered by the celebrated journalist to be non-factual, forcing him to provide a measured response that seeks to set the facts straight.

Below is Mr. Dowuona’s full response to Amanpour:

  1. Who told Amanpour Moesha is being denied the right to speak? She can speak any day. But others are also exercising their right to speak. She enjoyed a “boisterous and humourous conversation” with the super clever Amanpour, who knew exactly what she was driving at, but I wonder if Moesha was at the same level of intelligence with Amanpour.

The double standards from Amanpour is nauseating. On several occasions during that interview with Moesha, she exclaimed at at Moesha’s submissions. In fact she swore “holy cow” at some point, and yet she fakes surprise at a similar reaction from Ghanaians. Again, Amanpour wrote that a report she had seen, shows that the Ghanaian economy was doing well, and yet she failed to pin Moesha down on her false claim about the economy, for which she is a prostitute and a gold digger. How smart was that, Amanpour?
2. Did Amanpour say Moesha was an INNOCENT woman? Please someone tell Amanpour she should not insult Moesha and insult us, otherwise we shall retaliate. I am sure Amanpour has seen what our retaliation looks and sounds like. She should not try us with this naive talk. What is her definition of innocence – and how is a a self-confessed prostitute and gold digger innocent? Or she was innocent about who was interviewing her and where it will be aired? So did Amanpour take advantage of Moesha? How cynical of your, Amanpour?! Moesha should read Amanpour’s piece and see how Amanpour took advantage of her “innocence”.

3. Did Amanpour not hear from her own 1.30minutes excerpt that Moesha blamed her sexual escapades on the Ghanaian economy and also said it goes for all women? How does Amanpour explain the statement “In Ghana, the economy is such that if you are a woman you can’t make enough money…”
Amanpour expected Ghanaians, and the government to stand by and not correct that evil and stupid impression created by a self-acclaimed prostitute, gold digger and fornicator?
Let Amanpour tell us; how would the rest of the world look at our women following Moesha’s stupid statement?
Our women, government and media should just sit by and watch Moesha and CNN create this totally wrong impression about Ghanaian women? Please Amanpour, we all know you are not stupid so don’t talk like one.
Amanpour has lots of people like Moesha where she lives. Do they also blame the economy for their immorality?

4. Amanpour is too clever not to know that loads of women in Ghana are breaking their backs to make ends meet and to even provide for others. I can give you an unending list. Just recently, MasterCard put out a report which said 46% of businesses in Ghana are owned by women and it is the highest in the world. So who is this lazy spoilt brat of a girl, who wants to live a luxurious life on OPM (other people’s money), telling the world that her whoorish and vain lifestyle is because of the bad Ghanaian economy and her position represents all women in Ghana? Those business women have a right to speak for themselves, don’t they?
5. Let Amanpour know that the Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams was right; we don’t put women down in Ghana. And he was right to attribute some of his success to women. Those women are obviously not like Moesha. They do not lazy about and offer their bodies to married men to fund the vain lifestyles. Stupid and untrue statements like that of Moesha are what put women down and make women feel worthless.

6. In any case, did Amanpour say Moesha does not feel safe to return to Ghana? That is the most disingenuous, pretentious, deceptive and highest order of hysteria from a supposed clever woman trying to win cheap sympathy for her pet who has poopoed on everyone at the party. Moesha only run away to US so she could cash in on the cheap publicity Amanpour gave. Please, Amanpour, you are smarter than this hysterical view of the situation.
Let Amanpour know that she may have succeeded is wooing naive Moesha into her web to talk this loosely without thinking of the implications. But President Nana Addo and the rest of Ghanaians are not as fickle-minded as Moesha to be carried away by her empty words in a rubbish defence for her pet. Maybe Amanpour is buying into the silly shithole tag by Trump. We all know Trump does not know anything about anything so he just talks from his behind. We don’t want to believe Amanpour also talks from her flat behind.
Amanpour is clever and we admire her for that. But as for this piece in defense of Moesha, it is porous and flawed big time. She should stop making a bad case worse. We have seen and heard enough. We may not even want to see the full interview.
