One of Africa’s finest music exports, TiC, known in private life as Nana Kweku Okyere Duah, is set to thrill fans in Nigeria on March 8, 2025, as part of the Ghana Independence Day Party in Lagos.
The event, scheduled to take place at Lounge 38, will feature performances from Ghanaian artists including Nero X, Samuel G, and 1st Born, alongside TiC.
Ghana’s DJ Toyor and Nigeria’s renowned disc jockey, DJ Humility, will be behind the turntables to entertain patrons.
Explaining the rationale behind the event, TiC revealed that it is aimed at strengthening Ghana-Nigeria relations in the music industry and is expected to become an annual celebration.
“Think about it; after all the talk in Ghana that we support Nigerian music, but they don’t reciprocate, we have not aggressively pushed the boundaries to even hold an Independence Day event there,” he said.
He emphasized that Nigerians love Ghanaian music, but it is up to Ghanaians to actively promote their sound in the Nigerian market.
“Just check the number of Ghanaians there and Nigerians who love our music,” he quizzed.
“Now, the stage is set for a new dawn, and I have set the ball rolling,” he added.
TiC called on stakeholders to support the initiative, stressing that such efforts will pave the way for Ghanaian music to gain greater recognition in Nigeria.
Over the years, TiC has flown Ghana’s flag high beyond the country’s borders, making a strong impact with his sound.
