Ghana midfielder, Thomas Partey is expected to leave Arsenal Football Club at the end of the 2023/24 football season due to persistent injuries.
The 29-year-old has been battling for fitness all season and his latest injury, a thigh strain, has kept him out of action for two months.
Partey who had recovered from the hamstring was expected to feature against Liverpool in The Gunners’ 3-1 win at the Emirates Stadium.
However, Arteta ahead of the game on Friday confirmed Partey suffered a setback in training.
And according to Daily Mirror, the former Athletico Madrid enforcer is now expected to part ways with the Premier League club this summer.
Partey has excelled in just four appearances for The Gunners as a defensive midfielder and as a right full-back and has just zero goals and assists this season.
Partey is in the fourth year of a five-year deal that is set to expire in June 2025. The midfielder missed Ghana’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign due to injury.
