Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has praised Thomas Partey for his efforts to maintain peak physical condition.
The Ghana midfielder, who has struggled with injuries since joining Arsenal from Athletic Club in 2020, has shown improvement this season, featuring regularly across competitions.
Ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming match against Southampton, Arteta highlighted Partey’s importance to the team, emphasizing his strong start to the season.
“He’s a massive player for us and he’s shown that week in, week out. He’s started the season really well, really fit,” he told the club website.
“The way he came back post-holiday was probably in the best condition that he’s been, which was really helpful as well. Now he needs to continue to do that.”
Arteta also mentioned that Arsenal has been carefully managing Partey’s minutes to ensure his fitness, with Partey doing his part to stay in top form.
“We have managed certain minutes with him in the right way and the team is doing that, and then he’s doing everything he can as well to be in the best physical condition.”
So far, Partey has made eight appearances this season, contributing one goal. He is also expected to play a crucial role for Ghana in their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan.
