Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has praised Thomas Partey for his impact, describing him as an important player for his side.
The Ghana international has been a livewire for the Gunners in the ongoing season having made eight appearances in all competitions with a goal to his credit.
However, speaking ahead of their clash with Southampton in the Premier League, Arteta commended the midfielder for his impressive performances so far.
According to the Spanish tactician, Partey’s influence on the team is undeniable, and his consistent performances reflect his importance.
“He’s a key player for us, he’s a massive player, and we can see that week in, week out,” Mikel Arteta stated, emphasising how crucial the Black Stars captain is to his strategy.
Arteta also noted Partey’s excellent physical condition this season, crediting the midfielder’s hard work over the summer break.
“The way he came back post-holidays was probably the best condition that he’s been in. Now it’s about managing him,” Arteta added.
After the match, Thomas Partey will travel to Ghana to join the Black Stars for the doubleheader against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament qualifiers.
As captain of the Black Stars, Partey will lead the national team in two key fixtures scheduled for October 10 and October 15, aiming to secure qualification for the prestigious continental competition to be held in Morocco.
