There was prophecy I won’t live to see my birthday – Ebo Whyte

-

Renowned playwright and director, James Ebo Whyte says he was forewarned that he was not going to live to see his next birthday.

The CEO of Roverman Productions recounted a prophecy that came to him warning him about a spiritual conspiracy that was to kill him before his 64th birthday on the 20th of July this year.

According to him, several other family and friends had alarming dreams in which he had died.

He told patrons who had come to see his one man production that though he invested a lot of prayer to avert the calamity, he was not afraid to die. He insisted that as a Christian, death was not to be feared.

Uncle Ebo Whyte as he is popularly known, said however, that he promised himself that if God spared his life, he would embark on something he had never done before, thus the one man show for his quarterly plays.

‘A Crazy Ride’, as well coincides with Roverman Production’s 10th anniversary. The show, which spans a little over two hours, is an exciting stand-up comedy by the award-winning playwright, interlaced with music and dance.

The 64-year-old man indeed does tread on grounds he hasn’t done before, and impressively so.

Roverman Productions started its journey in 2008, with the first play being ‘Unhappy Wives, Confused Husbands’ which was staged at the National Theatre.
