Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper Denkyira West for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Benjamin Ayeh has appealed to the leadership of the NPP to turn back to its foot-soldiers and the grassroots members of the party.

“There is too much apathy among our foot-soldiers and the grassroots and it is because some government appointees sometimes do not know how the party came to power, they refuse to listen to the foot-soldiers,” he said.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam show, the Former MP cautioned the leadership of the NPP on the limited time they have at their disposal which may result in their defeat in the 2020 elections if things are not corrected.

“As if it’s a joke, but we have done two years and in May in our third year and though the National Democratic Congress is not an alternative, if we don’t take care, the level of apathy may reduce our votes in the 2020 elections,” he urged.

To Hon Ayeh, the level of apathy in Ghana, to a large extent, has affected media publicity for the NPP which is not a good sign for the party.

“Our communicators really need to engage the media once again because the media friendly NPP is no longer there because how can Akufo-Addo and Mahama both issue a statement on the Workers Day but Mahama’s own became the talk of town?” he asked.
