Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the United States (US) Congress, while commending Ghana’s contribution towards global peace and security, says the world is depending on Ghana to advance freedom.
The Speaker gave this commendation while addressing the Parliament of Ghana on Wednesday morning as part of her three-day visit to Ghana together with some delegation of the Congress.
Speaking on the Floor of Parliament, she said “the world depends on Ghana to develop in freedom and justice as the seal of Ghana’s motto says because today people are living in regimes and conditions that deny them their justice as citizens.

“As children of God, the foundation of justice is hope and we must ensure that every person, particularly our young people, have hope in the future; that is why we must ensure we have achieved economic justice through boldness,” she urged.
She commended Ghana’s role in international trade which she believes is a good move for the global economy.

“Ghana is already a leader in Intra-African trade but we must do more by working together to diversify economics and encourage trade throughout the continent so that we can ensure regional security and stability necessary to achieve prosperity across Africa,” she added.
Members of the congressional delegation in Ghana include the House Majority Whip James Clyburn, Chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus, Karen Bass and Representatives Barbara Lee and John Lewis.
