The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has drawn Biblical inspiration following the victory of John Mahama in the just-ended 2024 election.
The outspoken politician likened the former President’s re-election to the rejected stone, which became the cornerstone, as quoted in Matthew 21:42.
Addressing elated NDC supporters at Mr Mahama’s Campaign office on Monday, he also cited Psalm 118:23 to reaffirm appreciation to God.
He touted Mr Mahama’s dedication to service having occupied several positions in the country.
“He is a man who has served this nation throughout his life. He served as president between 2012 and 2016. He was voted out and some said he could not become president again. Some mocked him and said he is the only president who has served for one term.
“But today the Lord who crowns kings has given him the presidency again. The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone. It is the doing of the lord and it is marvelous in our sight,” he stated.
Expressing confidence in the next Mahama administration to move Ghana forward, he added, “We call him the nation builder and he will lead us all to build the Ghana we want together.”
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission(EC) has declared Mahama winner of the keenly contested election.
His close contender, the New Patriotic Party’s(NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia secured 4,657,304 votes, comprising 41.61%.
