The New Force political party has committed to building 16 multifunctional sports academies across all 16 regions of Ghana.
This ambitious plan is a key component of the party’s broader manifesto, which was unveiled during their recent launch event.
The New Force’s manifesto is anchored on twelve pillars, with the final pillar focusing on sports and creative arts.
Speaking at the event, the party’s leader, Nana Kwame Bediako remarked that it has become important to invest in these sectors to develop world-class athletes and artists who can compete on the global stage.
He pointed out that in many countries, the creative sector is a major revenue generator, and he expressed his desire for Ghana to reach similar heights.
“A lot of people do not see the value in sports and creative arts and, therefore, do not invest in them the right way,” the leader stated. “However, many countries are reaping the benefits of their investment in these areas.
As a party, he revealed their approach to sports and the creative industry is ownership and control. This strategy includes plans for the country to manage its own sports academies, music catalogs, and distribution channels.
By doing so, the party believes Ghana can cultivate future talents comparable to global icons like Messi and Ronaldo.
Additionally, the academies are expected to attract educational investors, ensuring that athletes not only excel in sports but also receive a quality education.
Beyond sports, the New Force aims to elevate Ghanaian artists to international standards, ensuring that they become world-class talents.
The New Force Leader plans to revive the creative arts sector by building a top-notch film studio, working with national security and the NCA to combat piracy, and establishing a strong publishing framework to protect intellectual property and secure royalties for content creators.
