Newly-elected President, John Mahama has acknowledged the challenges ahead of him following his victory in the 2024 election.

However, Mr Mahama has said the welfare of Ghanaians will be a priority in building the country and called for effective collaboration.

He gave the assurance in a speech on Monday evening following the Electoral Commission’s (EC) official declaration of the election results.

“We must not forget the people of Ghana,” Mahama declared passionately. “We will implement governance reforms. The journey will not be an easy one, as the outgoing government has plunged the nation into an abyss.

“The entity we serve is Mother Ghana,” he stated, calling for an inclusive and cooperative approach to governance,” he said.
