The Member of Parliament for Upper West Akim, Frederick Obeng Adom has revealed a series of unprecedented developments in his constituency.
Speaking on Adom 106.3 FM’s The Big Debate segment on the station’s award-winning morning show, Dwaso Nsem on Friday, the MP disclosed the scale of ongoing and completed projects, attributing them to his commitment to community development rather than electoral gains.
He revealed that, 64 boreholes are currently being constructed and nearing completion.
“We’ll ensure all are ready soon,” he affirmed, underscoring the impact of these water projects on the community.
In response to streetlight issues, he stated, “We are fixing faulty streetlights in 40 communities—a level of effort not seen before in this constituency.”
Furthermore, Mr. Obeng Adom addressed telecommunication improvements.
“Many towns struggled with network issues, but now we’ve installed rural telephony, enhancing connectivity for our people” he said.
The MP, who is seeking re-election, shared his support for the agricultural sector.
“I’ve donated 40,000 seedlings and fertilizers to our farmers and I have also distributed over 200 sewing machines to tailors to boost local livelihoods” he added.
For educational support, he has provided BECE candidates with mathematical sets and organized inter-school quizzes with awards to motivate students.
Community centers in various towns are also near completion, with some projects about 70% finished.
The incumbent MP also announced partnerships with international experts.
“I’ve brought in experts from China to help establish a factory for producing iron and combustible fuel” he said.
Reflecting on his achievements, he said, “No MP in their first term has been able to do as much as I have. We don’t do these projects just for votes; it’s about making a real difference” he added.
