The Big Debate: Achiase DCE shares progress on development projects

-

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Akyem Achiase, Richmond Agyabeng Amponsah, has shared progress on various developmental projects undertaken by the government in the area.

Speaking on Adom 106.3 FM’s The Big Debate segment on the station’s award-winning morning show, Dwaso Nsem he outlined several key initiatives in education, health, roads, and markets.

Mr Amponsah said significant progress has been made in completing projects initiated by the previous government.

“We have completed all the projects that the NDC started, and I believe that the remaining ones will be completed soon. When we came into power, there were many unfinished school projects. Now, we are working hard to complete them,” he said.

On health, the DCE disclosed the improvements in healthcare infrastructure.

“When we took office, there were no health centres in some towns, but now we have a large district health facility that will soon be commissioned. The facility will be officially opened next Friday, and we will have workers coming in to provide the services,” he noted.

Addressing concerns about the project, Mr Amponsah rejected claims that it was funded by the Czech Republic.

“This is a government-funded project, and I know for a fact that it is for the Ghanaian government. There is no need to argue about it because it’s clearly for Ghana, not the Czech Republic,” he clarified.

Mr. Amponsah also mentioned the development of Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compounds in several towns.

“We have established many CHPS compounds, which is a testament to our commitment to improving healthcare and showing that we have the people’s welfare at heart” he stated.

On the issue of road infrastructure, Mr Amponsah acknowledged that while significant work has been done, there are still challenges to be addressed.

“We are working hard to fix roads that are in bad condition and to repair bridges and gutters that pose serious risks to the community. There is a road in my hometown that I wanted to be done, and we’re still working on it,” he explained.

He acknowledged that not all roads have been completed but stressed that the government is focused on improving road infrastructure.

“Fixing roads is a priority for us, and we’re doing the best we can. While we haven’t done enough, we’re making progress,” he stated.

On market development, Mr. Amponsah stressed efforts to support local economies through the construction of markets and shops.

“The assembly, together with the government, has built many markets and shops for the towns. This will help improve commerce and create more opportunities for our people,” he said.
