Owners of 2,000 houses at Nyanyano Kasapa Junction in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region risk eviction as their land has become a subject of litigation.
Information gathered by Adom News suggests that, the land belongs to the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).
However, the current habitants also claim ownership, stating they bought the land and have duly registered it at the Lands Commission.
But some GNAT executives on Thursday stormed the community with police personnel to lock the occupants out of their homes.
Johnson Amoh, a member of the teachers union stated that, the Winneba High Court has ruled in their favour against one Johnson Koomson and 62 orders, hence their decision to take over their land.
Scores of residents who will be rendered homeless should GNAT go through with its decision have expressed worry.
They told Adom News that they are not aware of any ruling and called on the traditional authorities of Gomoa Nyanyano and the Gomoa East District Chief Executive(DCE), Solomon Darko Quarm to come to their aid.
