Over 2000 artisans at Kpone Barrier in the Greater Accra region are facing eviction.

This is because the land they have been operating on has been sold to a foreign businessman.

The area also hosts food vendors, tanker operators, electronics vendors, welders, and others.

The artisans argued that, their livelihoods will be severely impacted by the eviction.

They have occupied the land, owned by GBC, for over 20 years and claim they have nowhere else to go if evicted.

Some artisans who spoke to Adom News threatened to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming December election if the government does not intervene on their behalf.

They suggested that authorities should have informed them about the land sale so they could have organized to purchase it themselves, similar to how the foreigners allegedly did.
