A 56-year-old pupil teacher, Isaac Wilson Appiah, accused of inserting
his middle finger into a 10-year-old girl’s vagina, was on Thursday
remanded by an Accra Circuit Court.
Appiah, who pleaded not guilty to indecent assault, was subsequently
remanded to re-appear on January 2, 2019, by the court presided over by
Ruby Adjeley Quaison.
The prosecutor, Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire, said the complainant is
the mother of the victim, whiles the victim is a class three pupil with
the accused as her class teacher who resides at Mateheko.
On November 28, this year, the victim went to school early in the morning and met the accused in the classroom.
According to the prosecutor, the accused fondled the victim and inserted
his middle finger into her vagina and warned her not to tell anybody
about the act, else he would cane her.
Based on that, the victim kept the incident to herself. On November 30
at about 17:00 hours, the complainant detected changes in the way the
victim sits and when she examined her, she saw blood stains in her
pants.
When the victim was quizzed, she mentioned
Appiah as the one who inserted his fingers into her vagina.
He said a report was then made to the police where a medical report form
was issued to the complainant to seek medical care for the victim.
Appiah was subsequently arrested by the police.
