A taxi driver, said to have been driven by jealousy, has inflicted deep cutlass wounds on a man he suspected to be having an affair with his girl lover.
Kwabena Manasseh also known as Ewuo Ba is alleged to have attacked and slashed one Kofi Agyekum, the alleged ‘rival’ with a sharp machete, inflicting deep wounds on the latter.
The unfortunate incident occurred at Krabonso, a farming community in the Kintampo South District of the Bono East region.
Narrating the incident to Adom News, the Unit Committee chairman for Krabonso Electoral Area, George Baffour, said the victim had paid the dowry of the lady but later suspected she was having an amorous relationship with the suspect.
His attempt to warn the suspect to stay away from his soon-to-be wife resulted in a scuffle which led to the suspect inflicting cutlass wounds on Mr Agyekum.
George Baffour said but for the timely intervention of neighbours, Mr Agyekum, who is a known ginger farmer, would have died.
Also, brother of the victim, Patrick Gyan, who helped separate the two men, said the suspect also bit the victim’s mouth.
Sensing danger, he said the suspect fled the scene when his brother was shouting for help.
The victim, he added, is receiving treatment at the Kintampo Government Hospital whilst the suspect is at large.
Meanwhile, the matter has been reported to the police who have since mounted a manhunt for the suspect.
