Chiefs and elders of Tatale Sanguli District in the Northern Region have boycotted the 61st Independence Day celebration over alleged tribal bigotry of the DCE for the area.
The Chiefs have alleged that the DCE, Hon. Thomas Mbomba, is engaged in acts that have the tendency to cause tribal unrest and division in the district.

The Paramount Chief of the area Ubori Gariba Yankoso II who spoke to Adom News said the DCE doesn’t accord chiefs in the area the respect due them, adding that he doesn’t also consult them on decisions.
According to them, at last year’s parade, when awards were being presented to deserving students, none of them [chiefs] was made to present an award to any of the students.

The chiefs are, therefore, calling on the President to replace Mr. Mbambo as the District Chief Executive or call him to order, stating that his actions, if allowed to continue, will only cause division in the district.
In his response to Adom News, however, the DCE said the chiefs and elders of the area didn’t inform him about their concerns but promised that he will make ensure that the problem is resolved.
