Tanker drivers threaten Chairman over meeting with NPA (AUDIO)

Chairman of the Ghana National Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union, George Nyaunu says his life is in danger following threats from some members of the Union.

The members have threatened that they will attack him should he attend an emergency meeting scheduled between Energy Ministry, National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and the tanker drivers Monday in Accra.

According to him, his members no longer trust him as a leader to have their issues addressed.

The workers,  Mr. Nyaunu said took his phone and threatened to deflate his car tyres should he attend the meeting.

Meanwhile, some members are asking the Energy Ministry, NPA and other stakeholders to hold the meeting in Tema instead of Accra.

The workers hav vowed to deal ruthlessly with anyone who will be a hindrance in pursuit of a better condition of service.
