A total of 18 persons are expected to be honoured at the Afric Role Model Awards slated for October 1, 2021, at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The awards night will also commemorate the 12th YPYC-MTN Pulse Transform Africa Conference.

Awards will be given in categories including but not limited to the Africa Role Model in Entrepreneurship Development, Africa Role Model in Business Excellence, Africa Role Model in Journalism and Media Excellence.

Others are Africa Role Model Professional Leadership and Community Service, Africa Role Model in Youth Service and Capacity Building, and the coveted Overall Africa Role Model Male, Female and Organisation.

Announcing the nominees in Accra, an elated YPYC President, Andy Osei Okrah, said the “award scheme managers had worked diligently since the last event, overhauling and rebranding the scheme to reflect continental values and qualities of awardees.

“Our focus is to give the awards a continental character and project the competencies of the awardees as fit for any global purpose,” he added.

YPYC, he said, is transcending national barriers to recognise talents and brains in a grand design to use the scheme as a launchpad to foster continental unity, enhance economic development and curb brain drain, in the short-to-medium term.

His work was recognized at the just-ended Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC) with a plaque and citation.

He was among the 10 high profile personalities slated to receive honorary awards in diverse areas at the 11th edition of the Young Professionals Role Model (YPRM).

Taking to social media to celebrate his win, Kelvin prayed for support to execute his remaining project ahead and materialize his dream of building an aircraft.

These are YPYC`s Role Models Most Distinguished Transformational Leaders in the public and corporate world. They are elite listing of achievers, change makers, influential and inspiring leaders.

It is a non-competitive, honorary award given to deserving individuals and statesmen that YPYC emulate their leadership qualities and serve as role models to our generation.

These honorary nominees in addition to 10 competitive categories covering over 30 coveted awards, earmarked to be handed out to deserving individuals and blue-chip companies. Nominees will emerge as overall Gold or Silver or Bronze category.

Thepresentation of awards will be done during the 11thMTN Pulse Transform Summit at the Accra International Conference Centre on Wednesday November 04 2020 at 10:00am.

Mr.Okrah used the statement to announce MTN as partners of this year’s YoungProfessionals TransformationalLeadership Conference.

YPYC President Andy Okrah, noted that the “collaboration reflects the projection of the two corporate entities, for an all- inclusive nationwide drive to re-kindle the spirit of giving to secure the future of the youth “.

Commenting on the conference , Mr. Noel Kojo Ganson, Chief Marketing Officer for MTN, commended the work being done by YPYC to promote professional excellence among the youth and also recognize the achievement of young professionals.

He indicated that MTN has the development of the youth at heart and therefore supports and initiates programs aimed at harnessing their potentials and preparing them to excel in their fields of endeavor.

The duo are among the 10 high profile personalities slated to receive honorary awards in diverse areas from the Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC) at the 11th edition of the Young Professionals Role Model (YPRM).

The award categories cover academia to industry with over 30 coveted awards, earmarked to be handed out to deserving individuals and blue-chip companies.

Nominees for the awards are reigning VGMA artiste of the year, Kuami Eugene and Selorm Adadevoh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), MTN Ghana, Kofi Kinaata and KiDi.

Others include Dr Da Costa Aboagye, Director, Health Promotion, Ghana Health Service, Justin Koduah Frimpong, CEO, YEA, Clemento Suarez, DKB, Jacinta, Citi FM’s Umaru Sanda and Adom TV’s Cynthia Tima Yeboah.


The YPRM is a permanent feature on the calendar of YPYC, during which high performing corporate entities and individuals are singled out for the meritorious award.
