According to reports, the two students were involved in a heated argument that escalated into a physical confrontation, ultimately leading to a fatal stabbing.

Videos and photos shared on social media show the victim lying unconscious on a white cloth on the floor.

The video also showed a group of students urgently transporting the injured student to the hospital after the incident.

The victim, a final-year Visual Arts student, has been identified as Edward Borketey Sackey.

The suspect has also been identified as Godwin.

Meanwhile, the school authorities are yet issued an official statement regarding the tragic event.

Reports indicate this was after the suspect’s driver had a scuffle with the deceased for loading at the market.

According to an eyewitness, Prince, a station master at Agric Kwadaso, the incident happened on Saturday, April 9 after the security guard stabbed the driver, who fell unconscious.

The mate, who was angered by the guard’s action, also stabbed him, leading to his death.

“What I saw was a misunderstanding between a security guard and a driver. So, the security guard stabbed the driver into an unconscious state, and then the driver’s mate also rushed to his car, wielded a screwdriver and stabbed the security guard. He fell unconscious and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital,” he told Akoma FM.

The driver is, however, receiving treatment at the Kejetia hospital while the suspect is in police grips, assisting with investigations.

Mayor for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Samuel Pyne, has since expressed worry about the situation.

Mr Pyne has assured of a crunch management meeting to ascertain the issue for possible solutions to avoid recurrence.

Hilda, a mother of two, upon sensing danger, tried to stop the blood oozing from the wounds with a bedspread which proved futile.

Prince’s lifeless body was later found in front of their room in a pool of blood.

The body has since been deposited at the Bono Regional Hospital for postmortem while the suspect is assisting police in investigations.

The brawl, which started on social media, became physical on Sunday at the Victoria Park around 3:00pm when fans of the duo attacked themselves verbally over who the best Cape Coast Dancehall artiste is.

Information gathered indicated that the argument led to a fight through which he was stabbed.

Central Regional Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Sgt. Evans Entie, in an interview, confirmed the incident, adding that, the deceased was rushed to the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body has been deposited at the Bakaano mortuary for autopsy while police have launched investigations into the matter.
