In a live session with his fans, the musician explained his motivation behind launching the service, which is his desire to provide job opportunities and support for others.

He revealed his aim is to see other people, particularly his supporters win in life, rather than indulging in personal luxury.

Shatta Wale noted that the significant investment covered various aspects of the business, including app development, the purchase of multiple mini cars, and overall promotion.

He stated that while the $2 million could have been used to buy luxury cars such as Lamborghinis, Range Rovers, and Rolls-Royces, he chose to prioritize the needs of others by creating a business that would generate employment and contribute positively to the community.

Shatta revealed that beyond his persona, he has enough love to share hence he should be treated with compassion.

Since Shatta Wale announced his online-hailing ride, Shaxi, multiple celebrities have been made brand ambassadors and the latest to join Medikal and Fella Makafui in that category is Dr Likee.

As part of the package, Dr Likee took delivery of a red Hyundai Elantra in the company of other Kumawood actors and skit producers.

The handing over was done by Sammy Flex and a close ally of Shatta Movement who made the presentation on behalf of Shatta Wale.

For the next year, Shatta Wale covers insurance and maintenance to ensure smooth running of the branded car.

Speaking on the news, Dr Likee said his garage is gradually expanding, kind courtesy Shatta Wale.

He expressed excitement that his quota to the business has been recognised and rewarded, pledging to fulfil his mantle as an ambassador.

Though he did not disclose the brand, Shatta said the gift was to support his Shaxi business; an online ride-hailing service.

Salma is said to have officially delivered the car to Shatta’s Shaxi team while he was absent.

In appreciation, the multiple award-winning artiste flaunted Salma on his social media pages amid songs of gratitude.

Describing her as his rich friend, he teased that it is so cool having to benefit from such persons.

Shortly after Shatta Wale took to social media to express gratitude, Salma Mumin said: anything for you hun.

Salma joins a list of industry players to gift Shatta Wale a car for his new venture. Nana Aba Anamoah gifted him two cars, while Medikal supported him with one and a hefty sum of money.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz show on Hitz FM, Shatta Wale pleaded with his customers, adding that, his management is now approving the credentials of the drivers in terms of insurance and licensing, hence the delay when one orders for a ride.

Additionally, he said there are adequate cars and about 350 drivers had been approved for the ‘Shaxi’ business so far.

He went on to mention a few colleagues who supported him with cars for his new business such as Medikal and broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah among others who equally invested.

However, he has urged Ghanaians to give him adequate time approximately one month to finish every preparation made for the success of the business.

Shatta Wale on Wednesday, December 8, launched his transport service application called ‘Shaxi’ at Alisa Hotel in Accra.

While launching the app, he opined that the objective of the transport business is to help curb unemployment among the youth in the country.

At a time when drivers have threatened a nationwide strike, Shatta Wale has started services for his online-hailing car.

He was present at a press conference in Accra, and his outfit has got many talking.

Shatta Wale who refused to dress official to a celebs-police meeting with IGP George Dampare over the excuse that he is a showbiz star and must dress as such was spotted rocking a suit and a hat.

He changed his entire look from Dancehall to corporate with a suit and hid his neon-dyed hair with a hat.

This will be one of the few times he has been seen rocking a suit; the latest was when he underwent a rebranding to deliver a State of the Industry Address in the 2020 political year.

Also present at the press conference was Medikal who was also officially dressed and his wife Fella Makafui; the first ambassador for Shaxi.

Sharing the vision for his newest business, Shatta Wale said the ride was born out of his love for the youth and a means to reduce the unemployment rate in Ghana.

He said: “Well let me share this story with you today. Everybody that knows me knows I love the youth of Ghana and I always want to see them doing well. I want to see the boys and girls in the ghettos move from being unemployed into having gainful employment. That’s how the Shaxi dream was born. My team and myself set out to create a sustainable business with a focus on providing employment for the theming unemployed Ghanaians. That’s our drive and not profits. At the end day, we want to make an impact and leave our mark. Shaxi is for not just Shatta Wale and friends, it’s a Ghanaian project for Ghanaians, so lets all embrace it and make it happen. Thank you for your support and thank you to the entire team behind the Shaxi project, couldn’t have done this without you”.

Though the two have had their differences in the past, the rapper didn’t hesitate to congratulate Shatta Wale for setting up the business platform.

Moments after Shatta Wale said Shaxi is going to provide jobs for the youth amid complaints about other ride-hailing services charging higher fees, Sarkodie retweeted his tweet.
