Deputy Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has revealed how popular prophet Ebenezer Adarkwah Yiadom saved him from being jailed.

Kwaku Boahen said he was found guilty of criminal contempt by the Supreme Court during the Presidential Election Petition filed by then candidate Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party in 2012.

He was charged together with Editor of the Searchlight Newspaper, Ken Kuranchie and NDC member Stephen Atubiga who were found guilty and handed a 10- and three-days prison sentence respectively by President of the nine-member panel, hearing the Presidential Election Petition, Justice William Atuguba.

Narrating how he escaped jail on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, Mr Boahen said Prophet 1 as he is popularly called had prophesied of his freedom before he went to court.

He claimed the Founder and Leader of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Center called and told him about what God had revealed to him.

“Opambour invited me to his house and prayed for me. He also told me out of the three charged with contempt, I will be freed and true to his word, it happened,” the NDC man said.

Mr Boahen said he, together with some NDC executives in the Ashanti Region, went to thank God and Opambour for saving him from jail.

He decided to share the story to prove that indeed some prophecies are true but the mode of delivery by some prophets is what is problematic.

Mr Boahen said if all prophets would behave like Prophet 1, it will save them from going to jail.

The former President was accompanied by his running mate, Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman and National Executives of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

They include: National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Augustus Nana Akwasi Andrews.

Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Opambour Yiadom wondered whether there was no sensible person in the town to prevent the mob from lynching the innocent soldier.

The late Maxwell Mahama now Major was lynched in Denkyira Boase in the Upper Denkyira West district of the Central region by residents on suspicion of being an armed robber.

Then Captain Mahama who is the commander of the area military detachment according to his subordinates, was seen jogging along the main road and as he stopped by to ask some women for directions, the women saw a pistol on him.

The women who were alarmed by the discovery of the pistol on Captain Mahama mistook him for an armed robber thereby alerting their assembly member who allegedly organised some men to lynch him and even burnt him in the process.

The police has managed to arrest all those involved with majority of them facing prosecution in court.

But the controversy man of God could not fathom why residents in the town could commit such dastardly act.

“Is there no sensible person in the town to prevent the mad ones from killing the soldier? In any case, had someone reported any robbery incident? Ah! This is nonsense” he bemoaned.

Prophet 1 is he is popularly called is recommended residents in the town be lined up and whipped to serve as a deterrent to others.

“It is sad and we will not keep mute over it. How can they kill a soldier for no offence, if I had my way, the soldiers should be allowed to storm the town, nobody will be spaDred”.

Meanwhile, Major Maxwell Mahama will be given a state burial on Friday June 9,2017 at the Forecourt of the State House.

In his view, galamsey is the source of livelihood for the miners and given the high unemployment rate in the country, it is the only job they depend on at the moment.

His comment follows a national hue and cry over the negative effects of galamsey leading to government issuing a three-week ultimatum for illegal miners to pack out of the lands.

The deadline elapsed last week with many of the illegal miners moving their excavators from site but some defiant illegal miners, however, insist government rescind its decision to ban the activity in the country.

In support, Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom maintained that there is nothing wrong with doing galamsey.

The controversial prophet wondered when government and the media realized the destruction illegal miners is having on the environment when people have engaged in it since time immemorial.

‘Prophet One’ as he is popular called said the gold in the earth was proved by God thus any method being used to extract it must be deemed illegal.

He said he won’t hesitate to do galamsey in his auditorium if he is told there is gold in the earth.

“If I’m told there is gold in my church, I will thank God, pull down my pulpit and do galamsey here” he stated.

Though some of them admit they are causing a lot of destruction, especially, to farmlands and rivers, the Prophet Dr. Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom maintain there are no alternatives for them to make a living.
