It is not immediately clear what prompted the man to jump near the MultiChoice Ghana office.

The victim, dressed in denim trousers and a white long-sleeved shirt, was found lying motionless on the road beneath the overpass. Onlookers had covered his face with leaves as a crowd gathered, waiting for emergency services to remove the body.

While the police have not yet issued an official statement, officers were seen at the scene speaking with eyewitnesses.

Eyewitnesses recount that the accident transpired due to a tipper truck speeding along the Accra-Lapaz route of the N1 road.

In an attempt to overtake a pick-up vehicle entering from the Accra-Ashaiman road, the tipper truck collided with the pick-up, leading to a subsequent collision with the motor rider.

Tragically, the motor rider was crushed under the weight of the tipper truck.

The head-on collision left the pick-up driver trapped inside, with the vehicle severely mangled.

The rescue efforts were a collaborative endeavor between eyewitnesses and emergency responders, culminating in the successful extraction of the injured pick-up driver.

It took the collective efforts of both eyewitnesses and emergency respondents to rescue the injured pick up driver.

The news comes as a relief to fans and well-wishers who were deeply concerned about the artiste’s well-being following reports of collision with a tipper truck.

Kuami Eugene, known for his chart-topping hits and electrifying performances, sustained injuries along with one passenger during the incident.

A statement released by Lynx Entertainment reassured the public of Kuami Eugene’s condition, stating that he is responding well to treatment.

“We wish to inform the public that singer Kuami Eugene is alive and currently receiving treatment following a car crash on Sunday, March 17, 2024,” the statement read. “Our artiste sustained some injuries together with one passenger but currently responding to treatment.”

The statement also expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from fans, media outlets, and the general public.

However, Lynx Entertainment emphasized the need for privacy and space for Kuami Eugene as he begins his recovery process.

“We appreciate the outpour of love from fans, media, and the general public, but we plead the artiste is given much space at this moment as he begins his recovery,” the statement concluded.

Nonetheless, Kuami Eugene, sustained injuries on Sunday night after ramming his car into a tipper truck. The accident occurred at CP, close to the DSTV office towards the Dzorwulu traffic light in Accra.

According to the Editor for Modern Ghana news portal, Emmanuel Ajarfor Abugri who was right behind the musician’s car when the accident happened around 11:30 pm, the tipper truck was in motion but moving slowly when the musician crashed into it from behind.

He believes the accident occurred because the N1 highway is dark due to poor lighting, while the tipper truck also lacked tail light worsening visibility.

The vehicles involved are a mini-pickup loaded with furniture, a salon taxi car, a Toyota 4×4 and a long vehicle carrying cement blocks.

Despite the intensity of the crash on March 6, fortunately, no one sustained severe injuries.

Eyewitness Richard Adjei who recounted the harrowing scene said the driver responsible for the accident fled the scene.

Police swiftly arrived at the accident scene to control traffic and conduct investigations.

A towing vehicle was quickly dispatched to transport the damaged vehicles to the Tesano Police station for further assessment.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of caution and adherence to road safety regulations to prevent such accidents in the future.

The Road Safety Authority continue to urge drivers to be vigilant and responsibility while on the roads to ensure the safety of all road users.

The crash involved a Sprinter Benz Bus which was traveling from Pokuase to Kasoa.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver experienced a tyre burst, which led the bus to somersault multiple times before finally screeching to a halt.

Kweku Asiedu, who witnessed the incident, reported that three individuals were believed to have lost their lives at the scene while 17 other passengers sustained serious injuries.

However, the exact death toll is yet to be confirmed.

The injured victims were swiftly attended to by the Ablekuma North National Ambulance Service and were transported to Akawe Hospital, Police Hospital, and Korle-bu Teaching Hospital for medical treatment.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for caution while traveling.

Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the accident to determine the causes and take appropriate measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

She narrated how a driver who posed as a ‘good Samaritan’ persuaded her to step out of her car after he fabricated a story of her car oil leaking.

In series of tweets, she said the said driver trailed her for minutes, proposing to help her fix her faulty car at his mechanic shop nearby.

However, she said she was unconvinced and proceeded to drive off despite the driver showing her evidence of her leaking oil.

In a shocking twist, she discovered her car was not faulty at all upon arriving at her destination, leaving her to believe she would have been in danger had she heeded to the driver’s demands.

Vanessa who is shaken by the incident has cautioned road users to be wary of their surroundings, especially when driving.

She believes such evil-minded persons target females who have not much knowledge on cars or are gullible.

The long vehicle got stuck on Sunday, October 3, 2021, while the driver was travelling to Tema.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the truck getting stuck.

The truck, with registration number WR 1546-U, has also been impounded at the Odorkor Police Station.

It took several hours for the police, officials of the Ghana Highway Authority, and some welders for the truck to be removed to allow a free and safe flow of traffic.

“The Police Administration thanked motorists and other road users who ply that stretch for their cooperation, and the Ghana Highway Authority, for their timely support,” the police said in a statement.

Though details of the fire incident remain sketchy, the incident occurred on the Dzorwulu section of the highway close to Sunu Assurance on Monday, August 2, 2021.

A statement, signed by the Acting Chief Executive Officer, A.B.K. Nuhu, said the development is to enable GRIDco undertake the final stringing works.

“This involves removal of a section of the existing line which traverses the N1 Highway near the Fiesta Royal Hotel Junction. The Influence area is N1 Highway, near the Fiesta Royal Hotel Junction,” the statement read.

The interjection between Lapaz Ecobank and Las Palmas restaurant can be said to be one of the hotspots of motor accidents.

Over the years, many lives have been lost due to reasons such as lack of a crossover for pedestrians to safely cross from one side to the other.

This was not the case before, Adomonline.com checks revealed.

There were traffic lights, similar to those put up for drivers heading from Achimota-Bambolino to Kasoa.

But, the latest development is that the traffic lights for drivers coming from Mallam-Nyamekye heading towards the Accra Mall have been destroyed and replacement has become an issue for months now.

After sunset it usually becomes difficult for the drivers to know when to pull down their breaks because most of them don’t see any traffic light on the highway.

In effect, pedestrians take longer time to cross the road because of the fear of being knocked down by a vehicle.
