The mother-of-four stated that all she wants is for people to stay away from her.

She noted that there is so much going on in her life, and she simply can’t comprehend a lot of things.

Mercy Johnson made it known that she wishes no one anything bad nor does she want revenge on anyone, hence she cannot fathom where the strings of issues are coming from.

Alongside the message, she shared a photo of herself with one of her children, whom she said gives her a sense of serenity amidst life’s uncertainties.

In a tribute to her father, Miss Johnson said she is feeling the greatest pain of all and she’s yet to come to terms that her father is no more.

“For the rest of my life Daddy, I will keep asking God why? I don’t think I will ever understand why he has taken you from me. And if he responds, I don’t even think I will accept it. They say love saves but my love did not keep you here with us. The great pain I feel now is the greatest pain of all.

“Rest In Peace my gentle father, NWO Johnson Ametuo Daniel. D.A Johnson, God clearly loves you more, that’s the only explanation that makes any sense to me,” she wrote.

She shared the tribute together with a video of the last birthday her father celebrated when he turned 74.

Mercy’s father’s demise is coming barely five years after she lost her mother.

Mr Okojie won the primary held in Ubiaja, Esan South East LGA., Edo State on Saturday.

The 48-year-old politician picked the declaration form expression of Interest and Nomination Form to run for the office of Federal House of Representatives, Esan North East/Esan South East Federal Constituency, in April 2022.

In December 2017, Mr Okojie and several PDP supporters defected to APC from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The hotelier turned politician is a descendant of the Okojie royal family in Uromi Esan, North-East native authority.

He is from the lineage of Ogbidi Okojie, Onojie (king) of Uromi, who was a ruler of the Esan people and is renowned for his opposition to British rule.

Appreciation

Mr Okojie appreciated God for the win and his wife’s love and support in an Instagram post on Saturday.

He also shared his manifesto on his official Instagram account.

He wrote, “Incoming days, my team and I shall be embarking vigorously on more tours throughout all the wards of our constituency, meeting with stakeholders (both leaders and constituents) to foster and deepen the already harmonious relationship that will bring about the very best ways of meeting the dire needs of the good people of Esan North East and South East constituency.”

His wife also celebrated her husband’s victory.

“Congratulations to @princeodiokojie on this win. You are a good man and a man of the people,” she wrote.

Actress and mum of four, Mercy Johnson, has disclosed how veteran actress, Patience Ozokwor, advised her years ago to stop indecent dressing.

While reflecting on the past during her chat with the thespian on this week’s edition of her weekly cook show, Mercy’s Menu, the actress said “Do you remember when you were younger before you got married when I told you that the photos you take today, your children will see them tomorrow and immediately the kind of lifestyle you lived?”

And Mercy Johnson acknowledged the statement saying “Yes you did, you told me Mercy dress properly, you will have kids and when they grow up, they will ask you, why are you looking this way? yes I remember, I’m lucky but i still learned the hard way really.”

Also during their conversation, Patience Ozokwor revealed why she didn’t marry after she lost her husband years ago

“I wanted to remarry but my kids had already come of age and they pleaded with me not to marry another man and they promised they will be my husband. They asked me to stay single for them so their friends will not laugh at them that at their age their mum remarried and I understood them, though it was selfish of them but I paid the huge sacrifice for them, no sacrifice is too huge for family.”

Patience Ozokwor further spilled why she stopped wearing jewelry and makeup.

“It was my son God used for me, he had a dream twice of me with my natural face and hair on and God told him, he preferred me looking that way than when I use make up and accessories, by the third time he had the dream, I just knew this is it, I had to stop.”

She made the revelation while hosting veteran actress Joke Silva on her cooking show, Mercy’s Menu, published on Thursday.

The actress also revealed that she had surgery where her thyroid – a gland in the throat – was removed and she was placed on strict medication for life.

The actress narrated how she and her husband, Odi Okojie, managed the situation at that time.

Mercy said, “I’ve never discussed it where I had a cancer scare and I had my thyroid removed. It was like a journey for us. We had kids and my last was six months at that time.

“We kept saying that we have to understand that, ‘this is the new us. Let’s go get the surgery done’. And when we go there, they said I was going to be on medication for the rest of my life.

“It was a reality that we had to sit down. Them giving me a time that ‘you cannot miss my medication. As you wake up, that’s the first thing’, and telling me all of the side effects.”

Silva had earlier told Mercy Johnson about how she was able to manage the dementia diagnosis of her husband, veteran actor Olu Jacobs.

According to Silva, accepting her husband’s new reality helped her to manage the situation better.

The actress indicated that her 10-year-old daughter is maturing intellectually and she has began asking questions about her previous lifestyle.

Mercy made the disclosure while emphasizing the need for actresses, especially married women and mothers to be wary of the roles they take in their quest to maintain their fame.

The actresses claim to fame happened within a short while of landing into Nollywood due to her appearances in romantic and controversial scenes.

But, she revealed, she had to make a swift U-turn after becoming a family woman, yet her daughter appears displeased with her previous choices.

She wrote in part:

“My daughter is growing. She gets hold of my phone sometimes, begins to google, and goes like, ‘Mum, my friends said…’ And they’re very inquisitive.

“When you grow past a certain level, you try to go ahead and do better. For me, you don’t need people to tell you what’s right or wrong.

“Age is telling on me. I’ve grown past that level, I’m answerable to too many people: my husband and my kids. I hate to embarrass them in any way. “

The mother-of-four took to her Instagram page to share a promotional video, but the attention of her fans were drawn to what they say is a baby bump.

This has created speculations that a fifth child is on the way for the Okojie family.

Mercy Johnson, who couldn’t ignore the comments, gave what seemed to be a cryptic reply.

She did not deny or refute the claims, but simply wrote “chai”, an expression of surprise, accompanying it with laughing emojis.

Mercy Johnson’s marriage is blessed with three daughters and a son.

The businessman announced the big news via his Instagram page on Saturday, May 28, 2022.

“My dear good people and Leaders of Esan North East and Esan South East Federal constituency, it gives me a great sense of gratitude to God Almighty for making it possible for me to emerge as the APC candidate in the upcoming election into the Federal House of Representatives representing the aforementioned constituency after the just concluded primaries,” he wrote.

Okojie went on to thank his wife and family members for their support during the campaigns.

“This feat will not be possible if not for your kindest and surest support and prayers. It behooves on me to use this medium to express my sincere appreciation to God Almighty, my adorable wife Mrs. MERCY JOHNSON OKOJIE for all your love and support, to all my family members, friends and well-wishers. I thank you all,” he added.

While reacting to a fan who queried her, Mercy Johnson explained that she was on a movie set during the time of the star-studded ceremony.

The fan asked: I have gone through your page several times to see if it not you again since yesterday because I know you as one who is always genuinely happy with everyone, I was wondering since you didn’t go to Owerri, what happened to posting?”

Mercy responded by saying: Lol, I was on set, my heart is always with team happy…thank you loads”, Mercy Johnson replied.

Speaking out of rage, she said she would endure any form of disrespect and hate speeches directed at her, but what she will not take is harsh behaviour towards any of her four children.

This is exactly what she said Purity, her eight-year-old daughter’s school teacher has been doing to her, just by virtue of the fact that ‘her mother is Mercy Johnson’.

She said the teacher has not hesitated in making the entire school know her hatred for her [Mercy Johnson], despite not having a one-on-one encounter, and she is directing her bitterness to Purity.

For weeks, she said the teacher has either insulted Purity in the presence of her classmate or used biros to flick her hair.

The situation has caused Purity, a then school lover, to be in tears everyday she is dropped off at the premises.

“A teacher at my child’s school has been bullying my daughter constantly for two weeks. She is not her class teacher, yet she shows up at her class everyday to intimidate her! uses biro to flick her hair. She tells her to her face that she does not like her mother, tells her that celebrity kids are badly behaved and she should not bring her aura, she should stop feeling proud, she should not bring her online drama to school,” she said.

When confronted on the attack, she said the teacher did not only hesitate in telling her to her face the level of hatred she has, but she added that she will continue to bully the child for as long as she likes.

“Since I was around, I took the opportunity to meet this teacher politely and I could see she has been waiting to tell me how much she hates me… she tells me to my face that she does not care and she will punish her anytime she likes,” she recounted.

The response has touched Miss Johnson’s nerve to call out the teacher on social media – something she has never done – and called on the school authorities to instill discipline.

It was gathered that the singer was billed to perform at the opening ceremony of Okojie’s hotel in Abule Egba, Lagos, in January.

After allegedly receiving the sum of N3million, Davido, who confirmed that he would be present at the grand launch, failed to show up.

This was after a fan called out 31-year-old actress, Juliet Ibrahim, to seek prayer and find a husband instead of attending comedy shows with Mercy Johnson, who is happily married with three kids.

The fan @iamdjmurphylee001 wrote: “Well done, time wey u suppose dey go church or prayer seminar to dey ask baba God husband you dey do glo laftan.”

The comment was made after mercy Johnson shared a picture of her and Juliet Ibrahim at an event in Calabar on her instagram page @mercyjohnsonokojie.

Mercy Johnson, in defence of her colleague and friend, Juliet Ibrahim called the fan foolish for bringing marriage into the matter.

“You look foolish and you just showed everyone that you truly are foolish.

“May God help you to learn how powerful words are and how to mind your business.”

Johnson’s appointment was announced with 62 others in a statement issued in Lokoja on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Folashade Ayoade.

The appointments take effect from April 1, the statement said.

According to Ayoade, the rationale for the appointments was to “fill key positions with the right people and to broaden inclusiveness in governance by bringing people from more communities on board.”

The breakdown of the new appointees showed that 54 of them will serve as Senior Special Assistants while nine will work as Special Assistants to the Governor as Federal Constituency Supervisors for the Governor Yahaya Bello (GYB) Connect Programme.

The SSG further stated that the appointments were made to recognise and encourage outstanding contributions to the New Direction Agenda.

“The nine Special Assistants will also act as direct liaisons between the present administration and the Local Government Ward Coordinators of the GYB Connect Programme,”  the statement said.
