The generated amount will be presented to the project up till the completion of the full renovation of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

By the arrangement, a unit of each of the company’s products sold on the market has a component dedicated for the course.

The first donation of 30,000 cedis has been made, in anticipation of a series of donations to be made from the dedicated fund.

Founder of the Ebenage Herbal, Dr. Ebenezer Agyemang highlighted the company’s dedication to ensure the necessary support is offered to the KATH renovation works.

“Every bottle of Hepa Plus, Pavi and Plasmus capsule or bottle sold, there is a fraction set aside to support the Heal Komfo Anokye Project; from today, we will ensure that whatever amount accrued in a short time is presented to the fund”, he said.

He emphasized “our donations will be directly proportional to the sales of the product. If the patronage is high, the amount and frequency of our visit will be high”.

Under the Heal KATH Project, three of the hospital’s wards have since been upgraded to modern status.

Phase one of the project, termed the demonstration floors, has seen significant renovations, including the completion of works on the leaking roofs and exterior overhauling of dilapidated offices, wards and compartments.

Presently, a process is underway to put the three renovated wards in use to make room for the commencement of the second phase of the project.

Medical Director, Dr. Kwadwo Sarbeng has called for continuous donations to the project spearheaded by the Asantehene.

“This is a project mainly based on donor funding, so we still have a long way to go. We say that people should not stop donating towards the project. There shouldn’t be donor fatigue”, he said.

The association donated cash to the tune of 100 thousand cedis as its first tranche to support the project.

Not until now, the 70-year-old facility had no extensive renovation resulting in deterioration of the wards and offices.

Spearheaded by the Asantehene, the hospital which was in a debilitating state is now seeing some of its wards in advanced stages of refurbishment.

Although mobilized funds for the project are currently about 40% of the 10 million dollars target, roofing works, painting, and installation of wiring and toilet facilities are nearing completion.

Ashanti Regional President of the Association, George Arkoh Mensah says the donation would not only cater for the healthcare needs of themselves but also their clientele.

“We decided to invest in this project so that most of our clients who visit our facilities would have the best of care should they fall sick when they visit the region for economic activities or any relaxation endeavours. We believe this would go far to even support ourselves and families,” he said.

Mr. Arkoh Mensah led a delegation of the hoteliers in the region to make the cash presentation and tour the facility as works continue aggressively.

The group was impressed with the work done thus far as the project team race against time to have the phase one of the renovation works completed by close of November this year.

When completed, the facility would serve as a magnificently modernized edifice delivering best of healthcare to the Ashanti region and 12 other regions of Ghana.
