The military were reportedly escorting ballot boxes from polling stations in areas like Tsuibleo and Agblizaa.

Upon arrival, the military officers fired warning shots into the air, causing panic among the gathered crowd.

Eyewitnesses reported that military officers, armed with rifles, exited their vehicles and fired into the air to clear the path for the convoy.

The crowd, agitated over the unexpected military presence expressed frustration and concern about the situation, especially as traditionally the police handle such tasks.

The incident has sparked concerns among onlookers, as the responsibility for escorting ballot boxes traditionally falls to the police, not the military.

Security forces are now working to restore calm in the area amid heightened tension and public unease.

Gunshots at Drake’s house, security guard injured https://www.adomonline.com/gunshots-at-drakes-house-security-guard-injured/ Tue, 07 May 2024 16:09:48 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2391193 Drake’s security guard was shot near to the rapper’s $100 million Toronto mansion in a drive-by shooting, reports say.

The incident unfolded in the upscale neighborhood of Bridle Path shortly after 2am, as a 48-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being found in the street badly injured.

It is unclear if the artist was home at the time of the shooting. A suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, and reports indicate they are still at large.

Sources told the Toronto Sun that the victim was Drake’s security guard, and witnesses said he was shot multiple times during a ‘drive-by shooting.’

It comes amid his ongoing viral feud with rival rapper Kendrick Lamar. Although officials have not indicated any early link to the shooting, Drake is said to be ‘cooperating’ with investigators.

The area around Drake’s mansion, built by the star in 2015 for a reported $100 million, was restricted by a police perimeter amid the ongoing investigation.

The victim was found several streets away, and his injuries have been described by officials as serious, but non-life threatening.

He was raced to Sunnybrook Hospital and received emergency surgery, with one of the wounds believed to be to the upper chest.

It is unclear why police set up a perimeter at Drake’s home when the shooting was streets away, however sources told CP24 that Drake has offered to cooperate with investigators as they probe the shooting.

Around an hour earlier, a man was shot dead and a woman was injured in another shooting in Oakwood Village, roughly nine miles away. It is unclear if the two shootings are related.

The location of the shooting at Drake’s Toronto mansion comes amid his ongoing feud with rival rapper Kendrick Lamar, who used the same mansion to taunt Drake this week.

As the two men have released ‘diss tracks’ against each other the last few weeks, Lamar shared the cover for his track ‘Not Like Us’, featuring Drake’s mansion covered in markers for a sex offender app.

There is no evidence at this time that the shooting was related to the rapper’s viral feud.

The suspect in the shooting fled the scene, police said, and investigators have yet to release any descriptions of either the gunman or the vehicle.

Discussions to set up police interviews inside the huge mansion are taking place, reports the Toronto Sun.

Drake – real name Aubrey Graham – made headlines when he set out to build the palatial home in 2015, and purchased the plot of land it sits on for $6.7 million.

He then spent a reported $100 million constructing the huge estate.

The artist is known to be private around details with his residence, although he has occasionally offered fans a glimpse at the luxury property on social media, including showing his private basketball court.

The shooting in the early hours of Tuesday is not the first time the home has been involved in serious incidents.

On March 30, 2021, a woman was arrested outside the mansion after allegedly attacking a security guard with a knife.

The musician, who has lost his right arm from his elbow, revealed he was born physically fit but his life took a sharp turn just by him being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

According to him, he was heading home after 6th March parade when he was hit twice, in the arm and leg, by a stray bullet.

MP Nation recounted that the rifle was being handled by a traditional leader as part of customs for a funeral, but the gun was cocked and the trigger was accidently pulled, causing the gun to go off in his direction.

“I was just passing by with my friend and the man was shooting at the funeral grounds. But the gun was not responding so he had to step out to the roadside to cork the gun. I don’t know how his hand located the trigger all of a sudden,” he recounted.

MP Nation continued that the incident happened in a flash, and the last thing he remembered at that point was screaming on top of his voice.

According to him, the bullet blew off his hand instantly, and he woke up in the hospital with an amputated arm.

He added that he spent four months in the hospital before he was discharged.

MP Nation is, however, grateful to God that he did not lose his life in the unfortunate incident.

He revealed initially he struggled to accept reality of being disabled, but currently, his sorrow has turned into his testimony.

MP Nation rose to fame after a powerful ministration went viral, as well as his striking resemblance with gospel musician Brother Sammy.

Gunshots fly in during battle in church https://www.adomonline.com/gunshots-fly-in-during-battle-in-church/ Mon, 15 Nov 2021 10:27:27 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2043794 Bodyguards of opposing sects of an Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) took their battle to the church premises where they caused havoc.

The security guards who were hired by the church splinter group were said to have fired gunshots at another pastor’s group in a bid to take over the house of worship.

The matter, which has been settled in court, in favor of the splinter group, rose its head again when the opposing sect interrupted the church service during the night.

The Sunday Mail reports that national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident, adding that investigations are in progress.

He also said representatives of both church factions had made counter-reports to the police.

“Police are investigating the matter. The problem started when the Chiangwa faction hired a security company (name supplied) to guard the premises in Marlborough and they found that there was another security company (name supplied) hired by the Madawo faction. The Chiangwa security guards tried to enter the premises and they were dispersed by dogs.

“After that, the Chiangwa faction’s security guards phoned their command section which deployed reinforcements. One of these reinforcements fired the shots. The case of assault was reported to Marlborough Police Station by the Chiangwa guards and the Madawo faction’s security guards also made a counter report of the shooting. This is the case the police are investigating and all is emanating from the church fights.”

About 10 years ago when I was still living in Nigeria, I went to visit a friend of mine. Reaching his House I saw a sick girl outside on the floor helpless. I asked what’s wrong they said she is sick but no money to take her to the hospital.

I went inside the room but couldn’t stay knowing that child reminds me of me being kept outside for my body to heal itself because we had no money for hospital. So I came out gave them money and asked them to take the Child to the hospital immediately!!! . They called me that evening that the child has been admitted in the hospital as soon as they reached. They thanked me and off the phone…..

Three days latter while I was coming back from the club, I was attacked by gun men who shot at my car and a bullet hit me. The bullet went through my nose and stayed right where you can see on the scan pictures I just posted. And a big piece of glass went into my neck too as u can see on the scan pictures.. we went to 2 hospitals that night only the 3rd accept me.. they were scared I will die on them. I was bleeding like hell… I was coughing out glasses and blood which made me ask the nurses if I will make it. I’m a strong woman but for the first time in my life I asked someone if I will survive!!!!! But I did anyway????????

The next day the little girl I helped called me from her own hospital bed to tell me she prayed for me that her brother told them immediately I was shot to pray for me and she did.. that I shouldn’t worry nothing will happen to me!!! We both recovered and here I am today telling the story… so now if I say thank God for life, you will feel me better ..
