According to him, “Freemasonry is not a secret society, it is a society with secrets, just like any other association.”

Speaking on the JoyFM Super Morning Show, he explained that keeping secrets is a common organizational practice.

“I believe when the management of Joy FM is meeting, not all staff members are allowed to attend. Likewise, when Freemasons meet, if you are not a member, you cannot attend. So that is why people keep referring to it as a secret society.”

His clarification comes ahead of the society’s upcoming 2024 Festival of Institutional Lodges. The Festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, at the Ridge Masonic Hall in Cape Coast.

This year’s festival pays tribute to the first Black African headmaster of Mfantsipim School, Dr. Francis Lodowic Bartels (OBE).

The theme, “Freemasonry and Religion: Dispelling the Myths, Distilling the Truth,” promises insightful discussions and enlightening lectures.

Right Worshipful Hood emphasised that Freemasonry will open its doors to the public to celebrate the occasion.

“On occasions like the 2024 Festival of Institutional Lodges, we open our doors to the public as we’ve done previously. So we want the public to come in, we want them to be there and see what we do for them to appreciate what Freemasonry is all about, particularly with the charity projects we do,” he said.

Nana Dokua Asiamah-Adjei challenges misconceptions about Freemasonry https://www.adomonline.com/nana-dokua-asiamah-adjei-challenges-misconceptions-about-freemasonry/ Mon, 27 May 2024 14:36:56 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2400557 The Deputy Trade and Industry Minister, Nana Dokua Asiamah-Adjei has mounted a spirited defense for Freemasonry.

The Akuapem North Member of Parliament said tagging such persons with activities such as “carrying pots, drinking blood, and eating human flesh,” stems from ignorance.

“How can you assume gentlemen of good standing, well-dressed up in their suits, carry pots, drink blood, and eat human flesh’?” she questioned.

The MP in a post on Facebook highlighted these perceptions as unfair and baseless accusations often levelled against Freemasons.

“Are we able to join any church leadership meeting? No, because we are not part of that group, does it make them evil or occultists too?” she argued, pointing out the flawed reasoning behind demonising groups based on exclusivity.

The Deputy Minister painted a picture of refinement and sophistication associated with Freemasonry, describing banquets with “fine dining of 5-course serving, good wine, good flavorful single malt whisky,” and eloquent discussions showcasing “good grammar and fantastic tenses, table etiquette.”

She urged sceptics to experience these gatherings first hand to appreciate the character and values of Freemasons, whom she described as “fantastic gentlemen.”

In a light-hearted conclusion, Asiamah-Adjei invited dissenters to “argue with your pillow,” signalling her confidence in dispelling Freemasonry myths and promoting a more informed understanding of the organization and its members.

Meanwhile, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has proposed the creation of Freemason Lodges tailored for women in Ghana.

He made this statement during a grand ceremony marking his 25-year tenure on the Golden Stool and in Freemasonry.

“This may be a great opportunity to discuss forming a grand lodge for females attached to the grand lodge of Ghana,” he said referencing the successful presence of female lodges within the grand lodge structures of Liberia, akin to those in England.

Epixode opens up on claims he has joined Freemasonry https://www.adomonline.com/epixode-opens-up-on-claims-he-has-joined-freemasonry/ Fri, 23 Jul 2021 16:52:09 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=1991138 Reigning VGMA Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Epixode, has denied claims that he has joined a secret lodge or brotherhood.

His latest Odeshi music video has got some fans wondering if the dancehall musician has joined the popular brotherhood, Freemasonry but the artiste has rubbished such rumours.

At the end of the Odeshi music video, the musician did a hand gesture where the emblem of the Egyptian Eye of Horus popped up.

Reacting to the rumours, Epixode said in ancient Egypt, the Eye of Horus symbolised protection, health, and restoration, hence critics should tone down bashing him.

The sign in my video wasn’t illuminati. It’s actually from Egyptian history and it’s called the Eye of Horus and I am not selling my soul, he said in an interview on Happy FM.

Reacting to news portals misquoting him, Epixode said “that is why I’m using this platform to clear the air that I’ve never said I want to sell my soul. For what? I come from a Christian background and I am a Christian so I’m not selling my soul for anything.”

Epixode, however, noted that he would join the Freemasons if he had the opportunity because I like that they have a good connection and help each other.

The Duke of Edinburgh passed away on Friday morning at Windsor Castle. He was the longest-serving royal consort in the history of the British monarchy.

A number of other Royal Family members have associations with The Freemasons.

In a statement, the group said: “The Freemasons are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Prince Philip this morning and we extend our sincere condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family.

“His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh started his life in Freemasonry in 1952, at the age of 31.

“He was initiated into Navy Lodge, No 2612, on 5 December.

“On 6 March 1953, HRH Prince Philip progressed to the Second Degree of Freemasonry, before advancing to the Third Degree on 4 May 1953.

“The United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) issued his Grand Lodge Certificate on 7 May that same year and he has remained a member to this day.”

The Freemasons are a group of fraternal bodies which can trace their origins to associations of stonemasons in the late 14th century.

Philip was born on Corfu in June 1921, the son of Princess Alice of Battenberg and Prince Andrew of Greece.

Due to his parentage, he initially held the title Prince of Greece and Denmark.

Philip joined the Royal Navy in 1939 serving with distinction during the second world war.

He was mentioned in dispatches for his bravery at the Battle of Cape Matapan during the 1941 German invasion of Crete.

In 1947 Philip renounced his Greek and Danish titles before marrying Princess Elizabeth.

Following the death of her father in 1952,

Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II.

According to The Freemasons’ statement Prince Philip was active within the organisation.

They said: “The Duke of Edinburgh was known to drop into meetings at his Freemasons Lodge almost unannounced.

“Navy Lodge has a storied past and an amazing roster of luminaries appear upon its membership roll.

“The Lodge prides itself on being the premier Naval Lodge in the world, with an unparalleled history that includes four monarchs as past members – King Edward VII, King Edward VIII, King George VI and King George II of the Hellenes.”

Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, is also a Mason holding the title of Grand Master.

The news of Prince Philip’s death was announced by a statement from Buckingham Palace.

It said: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband.

“The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”

Boris Johnson said the Duke had “inspired the lives of countless young people”.
