According to him, Ghanaians have tasted the leadership of the former President and were not satisfied with his performance hence voting him out in 2016.

Addressing a rally in Ho in the Volta Region, he asserted that Dr. Bawumia is the best candidate to lead the country to the desired level and hence must be elected as the next president of the country.

“According to Ewe and Ghanaian customs and traditions, you don’t distool a chief and reinstate him, that will be an abomination. In 2016, we distooled President Mahama and he will never return to the Presidency”, he said.

He expressed confidence in wrestling the Ho Central Constituency seat from the opposition NDC on December 7th, indicating that he brought new dynamics to politicking in the constituency, hence giving NDC a run for their money.

“For the first time in the history of NDC, they are having a contest in Ho Central. Due to this, the National Executives have turned Ho Central into their sleeping place. If they like they can come and build in Ho. Whether they agree or not, we will defeat them in 2024”, he stressed.

He entreated the electorates to vote for the development and progress of the country by electing him as Member of Parliament for Ho Central and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next President of Ghana.

“On December 7, vote for Divine Bosson and Dr. Bawumia. We are No. 1 on the ballot paper”, he concluded.

Give me the mandate to change the prospects of Ho Central – Divine Bosson https://www.adomonline.com/give-me-the-mandate-to-change-the-prospects-of-ho-central-divine-bosson/ Thu, 04 Apr 2024 08:44:10 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2376933 The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Ho Central has implored electorates to give him the mandate to change the prospects of the constituency.

Divine Bosson said his achievements within the last two years as Chief Executive of the Ho Municipal Assembly identify him as the best candidate to represent the constituency in the Legislative and lead its development agenda.

Speaking at the annual Ngoyiyiza of the Chiefs and people of Ziavi Lume in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region, he urged the electorates to vote based on the competence of candidates and note on party lines.

“2024 should not be about NDC or NPP. It should be about who can deliver, and I know I can deliver as promised. The law mandates that 50% of Ministers should be Parliamentarians.

“So, you must know how to lobby and use the advantage of being a fellow parliamentarian to bring development projects to your constituency,” he said.

He added that he aims to restore the dignity and respect of traditional authorities by implementing a project that would have an economic impact on the chiefs to enhance their livelihoods.

This he, believes, would enable the chiefs to honestly critique the politicians and put them in check to contribute to building the Ghana they want, and earn the respect of their subjects.

He announced that the municipality has received a fair share of road projects under his watch, hoping the road networks would witness significant improvement before the end of his tenure.

Mr Bosson said that the contract for the construction of the Ziavi-Anfoeta road project had been abrogated and would be repackaged and awarded to a competent contractor.

He further indicated that he had hatched an idea of establishing a monkey sanctuary in Ziavi and developing the Adidi Waterfall at Klefe to boost the tourism potential of the municipality.

Increasing access to potable water sits at the core of Mr. Bosson’s development plan, as he said some 18 boreholes have been drilled, with the Ziavi Traditional Area receiving 3 out of them.

He shared the optimism of doing better than he did as MCE when given the node to represent the people of Ho Central in parliament, adding “I will do better just as Dr. Bawumia will perform more than any other President of Ghana ever had”.

Mr. Bosson donated 12 sets of solar streetlights and promised to support the furnishing of the Information Technology Communications Center for the community.

The Dufia of Ziavi-Lime, Togbe Adzoa Kodzo indicated that though he had learned that politicians are cunning, he would give Mr. Bosson the benefit of the doubt and rally his community to support his bid.

He, however, lamented that there is acrimony in the country due to current economic hardship and erratic power supply, and expressed his disappointment in the “self-seeking agenda of politicians”.

Ho MCE appeals for support to resolve acute water shortage https://www.adomonline.com/ho-mce-appeals-for-support-to-resolve-acute-water-shortage/ Tue, 13 Feb 2024 20:50:25 +0000 https://www.adomonline.com/?p=2355668 The Ho Municipal Chief Executive, Divine Bosson has appealed to the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources to help resolve the acute water shortage, leading to rationing of supplies in his jurisdiction.

He said preliminary investigations revealed that there was an urgent need for the pipelines feeding the municipality to be split at a section to enhance service delivery.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the 9th Assembly of the Ho Municipal Assembly in Ho.

“I was told my demand would require some level of investment for a diversion of the lines to be split from Akrofu to serve the people and those in the University of Health and Allied Sciences area”, he said

He, therefore, entreated the Council of State Member, Sam Okudzeto to extend their appeal to the ministry to make available the needed funding for the diversion project to commerce in earnest.

Mr. Bosson lamented the predicament residents go through due to the inability of the Ghana Water Company to continuously supply water to residents in the municipality.

Sam Okudzeto, who represented the President implored the newly elected assembly members to design innovative ways of raising resources to support development in their localities, and not primarily rely on the public purse.

He also called on them to support the government’s initiatives and ensure people in their electoral areas are informed about the programs and ensure they benefit from them.

“The District Assemblies are mandated to support the government to deliver on its programs and projects to the benefit of the people. Together with your DCE, I entreat you to advance the implementation of the Government’s Coordinated Programme of Economic and Social Development Policies (2022-2025): Agenda for Jobs II: Creating Prosperity and Equal Opportunity for All.

Therefore, in your deliberations, planning, and decision-making for development, ensure that you localize these national development priorities into your action plans”, he said.

The newly elected Presiding Member of the Ho Municipal Assembly, Mawunyo Agbe advocated for an extension of the tenure of Presiding Members from 2 years to 4 years, to give them enough time to plan and initiate their objectives.
